Our Mission
THE
NEW HAMPSHIRE NURSE PRACTITIONER ASSOCIATION is a
non-profit organization. As a statewide
professional association, it recognizes the common
needs of its members. The association also
recognizes the professional and political concerns
facing nurse practitioners. NHNPA has always
played a major role in facilitating and supporting
appropriate changes in legislation that affect the
nurse practitioner.
NHNPA believes that by proper networking among its
members, it will be able to promote high standards
of health care and thereby enhance the identity
and continuity of nurse practitioners in our
state.
The NHNPA
endorses the following activities:
- Building and
strengthening our membership
- Acting as a
vehicle for networking among NPs at national,
state and local levels
- Facilitating
and promoting appropriate changes in legislation
that will affect all nurse practitioners in the
state
-
Acting as a resource center for standards of
practice, legislative activities, educational
programs, research, third-party reimbursement
and prescriptive practice
- Promoting and
marketing the unique role of the NP
- Participating
in all areas of health care policy that impact
nursing practice and consumer satisfaction
- Strengthening
communication to other healthcare professionals
through joint educational programs
As for the
future, NHNPA's survival and performance is
dependent on each member. The Association first
needs to work on improving relationships among our
colleagues, and secondly, to consciously
appreciate the joy of being an NP!
